Minecraft Education Hour of Code for 2022: Escape Estate. Students will experience a quest-based, coding adventure set as series of enchanted escape rooms, featuring an engaging narrative, fantastic and imaginative, and connected to real world achievements and CS throughout our world. Each playthrough is a new coding experience with different outcomes.
Minecraft Education is excited to offer a series of live, Hour of Code student workshops for your students to be immersed in our new quest-based coding adventure, Escape Estate! Each live workshop will feature different coding experiences and outcomes based on the in-game path taken (there are different color paths depending on the length of gameplay), which means your class can participate in multiple live workshops throughout the week! There will be lessons available in both blocks and python.
The live workshops are intended for educators to register their entire class to attend, or if you are an educator and just want to see how Hour of Code can be delivered and integrated into the classroom. This year's Minecraft Hour of Code is designed for students ages 8-18.
Using their coding powers, students will collect emeralds while enhancing their problem solving, creative thinking, and other CS skills to unlock a series of secrets, trap doors, and hidden clues to solve puzzles as they explore a mysterious house where each door opens a new challenge.
Sign up for an Hour of Code student workshop (or all of them throughout the week!) and watch how engaged your students are when they learn to code in Minecraft Education. You might even meet some special guests, including developers from the Minecraft Education team (get your questions ready!).
Workshops will be delivered in English and run 75 minutes in length. Minecraft Education software will need to be downloaded on devices for students to participate.
Each pathway will have specific escape rooms to complete within Escape Estate. Details on the different game pathways to understand what workshops are best for you to sign up your class for below. You can sign up for multiple sessions to provide unique experiences for your students throughout the week!
Green – 4 rooms: this pathway is recommended for younger students and/or students who little to no prior coding experience.
Yellow – 5 rooms
Red – 6 rooms
