Literacy Night at Olympus Jr. High
Olympus Jr. High hosted a district Literacy Night on Monday, February 26th. Jessica Moody, the Library Media and Educational Technology Specialist at the school, organized this amazing event. Checkout the highlights from the evening!

Local Authors: Students, parents and employees got to meet several local authors including:
OverDrive: Students learned how to login to our district's OverDrive app where they can access digital books to read or listen to. You can learn more about OverDrive here.
SL County Library: Salt Lake County Library shared reading lists for all reading levels and had fun drawings for guests that stopped by their table.
R.E.A.D. and Intermountain Therapy Animals: Intermountain Therapy Animals has a program called, R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs). They brought one of their furry reading assistance friends named Gretta.
Non Fiction: Keith Smedberg, Library Media and Educational Technology Specialist at Olympus High, shared some of the latest and greatest Non Fiction.
UEN: Jared Covili from UEN brought books and Ozobots to share a fun reading and robot programing activity with guests.
STEM Action Center Utah: Students loved the hands on activities set up at the STEM Utah table. Information about STEM Grants was also provided at this station.
Language Arts Resources for Students: District Literacy Specialist, Lisa Mcdonald, helped students and parents learn where and how to access a variety of language arts online resoucrces.
Shadow Mountain Publishing: Shadow Mountain Publishing, brought mountains of books for guests to browse through and purchase. They have published books for some of the guest authors.
