The UEN Homeroom Podcast is our chance to tell the stories of educators in Utah and talk about the issues impacting education in this state and beyond. We plan to feature educators and leaders from across the state of Utah in a fun and informative bi-monthly podcast. Our hosts, Jared and Dani, have a wide range of interests from innovation and computer science to the latest gadgets and personalized learning.

Your Hosts

Jared Covili specializes in teaching strategies for classroom integration of technology such as Google tools, geospatial learning, social media, and digital devices. Jared received his Bachelors degree in English and his Masters degree in Instructional Design and Educational Technology from the University of Utah. Jared served as the president of Utah Coalition for Educational Technology for 2011-2012 and currently serves on the UCET board, moderating #UTedChat and organizing edcamps across Utah. Jared is the author of Going Google and Classroom in the Cloud.

Dani Sloan is a Educational Technology Specialist with the Utah Education Network. She has a bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a master’s in Instructional Design and Educational Technology. She is currently working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Utah. Dani is on the executive board for the Utah Coalition for Educational Technology and a host of the UEN Homeroom podcast. She is enthusiastic about sharing new online tools, elegantly utilizing tech and social media in the classroom, and learning to unplug at home.
