Granite School District FLL Competition Highlights 2018

First Lego League is BIG in Granite School District.  This year 35 school-based teams competed in First Lego League.  Each team has 10 team members, so we were able to provide experiences in critical thinking, problem solving, programming, robot design, research reality-based issues and the chance to create and present a solution to a real-world problem to around 350 students in the 4th – 8th grade. 


Our incredible coaches (44 of them) and kids meet at least once a week and often more to design, program, research and problem solve. The results are amazing! This year’s trophies and awards are as follows: 


Project trophy: 

First place - Stansbury Elementary Water Wonders

 Second Place  - West Lake Aqua League


Core Values trophy: 

First Place - Fremont Plungers 

Second Place  - Eisenhower 5 Star Builders 


Robot Design trophy: 

First Place - Moss Elementary Hydro Dragons 

Second Place - Arcadia Lego League Legends 


Champions Award Trophy: 

First Place -  Eastwood Elementary Kitty Cats in Disco Pants

Second Place - Arcadia Elementary Lego Unicorns

 

Advancing to the State Championship on February 10th were:
