Adobe Firefly: Using Text to Image Generative AI in Education

Take writing prompts up a notch using text to image AI

Example: The assigned creative writing prompt is to tell about an animal that teleports to a different biome and what their day might be like there.

One student wants to write about a polar bear who decides to set up a lemonade stand in the desert.

With text to image AI, the student can easily illustrate their creative idea.

The student opens firefly.adobe.com and types in: polar bear in swim trunks in the desert with a lemonade stand

The student chooses one of the generated images that the Adobe Firefly prompt creates and copies and pastes it into his creative writing piece to illustrate it.

Elementary Ideas for Text to Image AI

At the elementary school level, students can use the feature to create avatars for their back-to-school nametags or illustrate what they did over a school break. Students can create alternate covers for their favorite books, showing the theme or plot point that resonated most with them. They can generate images to kick-start creative writing projects.

Middle and High School Ideas for Text to Image AI

Middle and high school students can create multimedia presentations with AI-generated visuals showcasing what they’ve learned about different countries, cultures, animals, or ecosystems. Generate images demonstrating their knowledge of Aztec dwellings for history classes or visualizing 19th century chemistry labs for reports on Marie Curie. In art or art history classes, they can use their understanding of various artistic styles to create their own version inspired by the original artwork.

Then re-generate your AI image with one or more of the variations shown below such as theme, movement, technique, effects, materials, etc. Be sure to click refresh if you want to generate more images from your text prompt.
