Meet Your School's STS or LMETS

Each school in Granite School District has either an assigned STS or LMETS

 (STS - Elementary)  School Technology Specialist/Coach 

Elementary STSs are either assigned to one school or share their time between two schools. STSs address technology work order needs as the frontline support and escalate issues as needed. Each STS has been a classroom teacher with many of them having their Educational Technology Endorsement. They work with the staff and students at their schools to effectively use technology with students to Engage them in learning, Enhance learning with options that aren't possible without the use of technology and Extend learning in ways that relate to the student's real world.


(LMETS - Secondary) Library Media Educational Technology Specialist/Coach

Secondary LMETS are assigned full time to a Jr. High or  High school.  An LMETS oversees the school's day to day operation of the library as well as coaching in the effective educational integration of technology and information literacy. Many of them also serve as the frontline tech support, while some secondary schools have another person assigned to that task. They work with the staff and students at their schools to effectively use technology with students to Engage them in learning, Enhance learning with options that aren't possible without the use of technology and Extend learning in ways that relate to the student's real world.

STSs and LMETS work with teachers and other staff in a number of ways that may include PLC collaboration and individual support and coaching in the form of training, consulting and collaboration throughout the lesson design and delivery process.
