Sam Mitchell is the Technology Coach at David Gourley Elementary and Oakridge Elementary.  During the month of December and the annual Hour of Code, she worked with teachers and students to experience and learn about Computer Science, coding and the purpose for and importance of coding.  Learn more about Hour of Code here. 

Sam created and used this website with classes to get them started with coding. She describes that below:

"This website houses hour of code activities for every grade level, unplugged activities, videos to excite the students about coding, and other more in-depth coding programs to take students to the next level. Activities will guide the students through each step of the coding process with videos and directions. The Minecraft Hour of Code activity for upper grades has information on how the students can open the software, load the program, and get going into the world of coding. Teach your students beginning computer science skills by having them participate in the Hour of Code!"
