Mileage is the fixed amount of 0.38€ you get for every kilometre you drive.
For each delivery, we multiply this amount by the distances between acceptance, pick-up and drop-off.
Your distances (kilometres travelled) are measured using the shortest Google Maps route.
💡Attention: Mileage is tax-free up to 1140€ per year.
Customers have the option of tipping you online via the foodora app.
Do not ask customers for tips, but if you still receive a cash tip at the drop-off, you can of course keep it.
In both cases, tips are generally subject to income tax and social security contributions. You are also legally obliged to state your cash tip on your fee note. We will automatically add your online tip to the fee note! You can also view your online tip from the next day in the Rider App in the tab "payments". Taxes and duties will be deducted automatically by foodora.
💡Please note: In the case of a split delivery, the online tip is divided equally between the Riders.
Sometimes you receive several orders from different customers at the same restaurant within a few minutes.
Please note that in the case of double or triple orders, the pick-up (collection from the restaurant) is paid once, unless there are pick-ups at different restaurants.
The drop-off (delivery to customers) is then paid twice or three times, depending on the number of orders.
You can see´ your payment details (mileage, tips, earnings) in the Rider App.
Choose "payments" in your side menu.
💡You won't be able to see your rewards, as they are calculated during each month. However, you will receive weekly emails with your stats and can see all rewards + additional payments on your fee note an the end of the month.
You will receive €1.00 for each re-dispatch. In addition, the kilometre allowance / mileage for collection is €0.38 per kilometre.
If an order is cancelled due to a problem on the part of the customer or the restaurant, you will receive compensation for the cancelled order. The amount of compensation depends on the delivery-stage when the cancellation was made.
⚡️Example 1: You drive to the restaurant to pick up the order. If the order is cancelled by the customer in the meantime, you no longer have to pick it up. You receive the mileage allowance for the distance already travelled (x0.38€).
⚡️Example 2: You have picked up the order and are on your way to the customer. If the order is cancelled in the meantime, you no longer have to deliver it. You will receive the kilometre allowance for the distance already travelled (x0.38€) plus 1€ for the pick-up at the restaurant.
💡Please note: canceled orders are manually entered into your Rider app at the end of the month, so you won't see them immediately!
A fee note is a written statement of the services you have provided.
As a free employee, you must check your fee note every month and sign it online.
If we do not receive a fee note from you, we cannot transfer any payment to you.
Keep in mind:
You must always sign the fee note at the beginning of the next month.
We usually send you a link by e-mail on the first working day of the month, which you can use to sign the pre-filled fee note with Docusign.
Check your spam folder if you can't find the email. If you still cannot find it, please check if your email address is correct.
You then have three to four days to check the invoice and sign it on Docusign.
When you sign with Docusign, your fee note is considered submitted and we can transfer your payment to you.
💡 If you submit your fee note too late, we won't be able to take it into account for the current billing period.
The fee (proof of monthly earnings) will be sent to you by email with the bank transfer.
💡Please download the document first before you open it!
In the example below you can see 2 different fees, one below and one above the marginal earnings threshold.
After you have signed your fee note, you will receive your money usually between the 8th and 17th of the following month.
Depending on your bank, the money will be in your account a few days earlier or later.
💡If you do not have a transfer in your account after the 17th of the month, please contact our Rider Support via ticket with the subject "Payroll".
If you miss the deadline for the fee note, you can sign it again in the following month.
In this case, fill out two separate fee notes: one for the previous month and one for the current month.
If the number of orders in the fee notes email does not match the number of orders in the Rider app, there may be various reasons for this.
The most common reasons are cancelled orders (you will see these orders once we manually adjusted it by the end of the month).
💡If you are not sure whether your fee note is correct, please write a ticket with the subject "change of fee note".
Please enter your new bank details in the Rider app.
Go to your profile ➜ bank details ➜ edit bank details
💡Your bank details will always be changed at the end of the month. Therefore, let us know in good time so that your next fee is transferred to the correct account. You can also find all the information about data changes here!
The marginal earnings limit is €551.10 per month (2025). If you want to be marginally employed, you must not exceed this limit - you must ensure this yourself.
💡Please note: If your contract does not start on the first day of the month or end on the last day of the month, the marginal earnings limit will be calculated aliquot in this case. Find more information on that below!
Earnings can be lower in the first and last month of a contract, depending on your entry or exit date.
⚡️For example, if your contract begins on December 21, you are able to work for only 10 days in December, and you must calculate the minimal threshold proportionally:
551,10 € / 30 Tage x 10 Tage = 183,7 € - This is the amount you must not exceed for the month of December.
The full €551.10 will be considered again in January if you were employed for the entire month (30 days).
💡For payment matters, a month is always calculated with 30 days, regardless of the actual number of days in the current month.
Use the following calculation to know your aliquot marginal earnings limit:
(see also the example above)
marginal earnings limit
/ by /
Number of days in the month (always calculated with 30)

If you want to stay below the marginal earnings limit, please note the following when booking rider slots:
Tips, bonuses, rewards and additional payments are always taxable.
The kilometre allowance is subject to social security contributions from €1140 per year and is therefore added to your earnings.
This means that your income in 2025 (including bonuses), together with your rewards, additional payments, mileage allowance and your online and cash tips, must remain below the marginal earnings threshold of €551,10 per month.
💡You can check your kilometres driven and your tips in the Rider app at any time.
