Accident & Damages

Did we miss some information? Please let uns know by submitting your suggestion through this form!

Quick guide for accidents:

1. Get an overview of the situation: Have you or another person been injured?

2. Call for emergency services (144) and/or the police (133) if you or others are injured, or if the question of fault is unclear. Have your social insurance number and all essential information (see the next question) ready. Try to obtain the contact details of potential witnesses - this will later help you claim for damages against the third party if they are at fault.

3. Inform the dispatcher if you need help, more time or are unable to complete your delivery.

4. Report the accident to us promptly via ticket, once you are out of danger.

5. For property damage or injuries to third parties, all our drivers are covered by liability insurance. To assist you best, please fill out this form.

6. Also, complete an accident report, and if necessary, an accident record, and send these to us along with all other forms (police report, medical certificate, hospital report) via ticket. Using this template should make completing the accident report easier.

How to act when involved in an accident?

According to the road traffic regulations (Paragraph 4), you must remain at the scene of an accident, provide assistance, and exchange your details. Attention: If you are involved in an accident, you must also fill out an AUVA report and submit it to us via ticket! Don't worry, as a foodora rider, you naturally have accident and liability insurance.

Consequences of Hit-and-Run: Hit-and-run is treated as an administrative offense and can be punished with a fine of up to 2,180 euros. Additionally, failure to provide assistance in cases of personal injury can be penalized under § 95 of the Criminal Code.

How You Can Help: Quick action is required in the event of an accident. Providing assistance, informing the police, and securing the accident site are the first important steps. If someone is injured, provide first aid if you can do so without endangering yourself.

Proper Behavior in Accidents: Stay calm, act responsibly, and do not follow your instinct to flee. In cases of personal injury, always alert the police or emergency services. For property damage, it is not sufficient to just leave contact details; the accident must be reported to the police immediately.

Your safety and that of other road users is our top priority. Drive carefully and stay safe!

The statutory accident insurance covers costs for first aid, accident treatments, rehabilitation, and additional treatments such as prosthetics, orthopedic, or dental treatments. It also provides subsidies for additional expenses and compensations.

Our business liability insurance also covers most damages to third parties caused by the accident, depending on various factors.

If you are on sick leave and fully insured after the accident, you can request the "Work & Remuneration Confirmation" by providing us with your medical certificate and the number of orders just before your accident or sick leave. Please create a ticket for this purpose.

What to keep in mind when being on sick-leave because of an accident?

If you are on sick leave for more than four days and provide us with a medical certificate, we can reset your batch to Batch 7 for one week. In this case, please send us a closed medical certificate showing the last day of incapacity for work.
