The Los Amigos Invitational has been a favorite of ours. It's early. It gives you a chance to get a time from four kids for three events. And it's fun way to spend 6 hours on the pool deck.
So how does a Co-Ed Relay work? Every relay is automatically doubled from 4-8 swimmers. They swim in girl-boy order. So the 4x100 Freestyle Relay becomes the 8x100 Relay. The 4x50 becomes the 12x50 because... hey! everyone loves a short swim. But something like the Backstroke relay means we need to take the times with a grain of salt, because only the first swimmer gets a true "in water backstroke" start, where the rest of the relay are jumping in from the blocks.
In between the swims, students got a chance to hang out under the easy-up. They played uno. They shot Instagram videos. They snacked. They were teenagers!
