Both Levels Win vs Paramount

Girls Varsity 400 Free Relay Ends the Pirates' Comeback

Varsity started off well, with a 1st/3rd victory in the Medley Relay and a close loss in the  200 free, lead my Micaela Peña's first place win brought the Dons to a comfortable 17-13 start. A surprising DQ in the 200 IM put the Pirates in the lead 17-19. But three races with top 3 swims quickly put the Dons out to an 18 point lead. Ceci increased the lead to 24 by winning the 500 uncontested.

Everything changes with the 200 Relay. Paramount went 2-12pts in the relay, 4-11 in the Backstroke, and 7-8 in the Breast to pull within 6 points. If Varsity would have repeated the results of the 200 Relay, Paramount would win the meet by 4 pts. And if they would have taken 1st/3rd, the meet would end in a tie. Luckily Paramount only had one team to field, so even if they took first, the Dons would still win by 4 points. But the 400 Relay teams wouldn't hear any of that, and went 1st/2nd in the final relay, ending the meet 79-63.

Congratulations to first places winners - 200 Medley Relay team, Micaela Peña (200), Danielle (50), Juliana (Fly), Ashley Lopez (100), Ceci (500), and the 400 Relay team!
