Senior Success on #SeniorNight

The AquaDons faced a 4-man team from Santa Fe, so it was going to be an uphill battle for the Chiefs right at the start. The Chiefs fielded one of the three relays, so the Dons dominated 26-4. Santa Fe only competed in 5 of 8 individual events, allowing the Dons another 30 points uncontested.

So, in an imaginary world where we only counted events where both teams had swimmers, and we only counted each team's top swimmer, how would we have done? Here's the breakdown:

200 Free: Fausto Gonzales takes 2nd / score 4-6 Santa Fe

50 Free: Jay Vera takes 2nd /  score 8-12 Santa Fe

100 Fly: Jeremy Alonso takes 1st / score 14-16 Santa Fe

100 Free: David Tarazon takes 2nd / score 18-22 Santa Fe

200 Free Relay: Dons take 1st / score 26-26

100 Breast: Mikey Matchan takes 1st / Dons win 32-30

Individual Points/Points Possible: Mikey Matchan 28/28; Jeremy Alonso 26/28; David Tarazon 26/28; Jay Vera 23/28; Vincent Mejia 22/28; Danny Bautista 20/28; Robert Robles 16/28; Nicholai Gonzalez 7/14; Fausto Gonzalez 6/20; Ismael Juarez 2/12

We didn't get anyone else to crack 100 points for the season. Danny Bautista is 17 points shy, but if he can qualify for Del Rio League Finals, there is a chance he can earn the 17 points. The point system is almost tripled at League Finals.

ER 98-34 SF

ER JV 59-26 SF JV

The JV Boys would find themselves in similar circumstances. Santa Fe only fielded three swimmers and placed them all in the 50 and 100 Free, with one swimmer in the 200 Free. If we played in the same imaginary world as mentioned above, the baby Chiefs would have beat the baby Dons 14-16. But we don't. At the end of the 100 Free, Dons were leading by one point, 27-26. Fernando Antonio and Isaac Esqueda swam technical events, the 100 Fly and the 100 IM respectively, and made sure they didn't DQ to earn the points. The Dons swam the last 4 events uncontested, chalking up the last 32 points to reach the 59 total for the win.

Individual points/points possible: Fernando Antonio 28/28; Isaac Esqueda 28/28; Mateo Ramirez 23/28; Isaac Mejia 17/20; Jared Gonzalez 11/20.

100 point Club

Congrats to Fernando Antonio (122 points) and Mateo Ramirez (105 points) for earning 100 points for the season. Isaac Mejia is 7 points shy.
