Girls Swim end preseason with Pioneer 115-12

The Titans put up one swimmer at the varsity level, so the meet felt more like a time trial than a dual meet, with El Rancho racking up 115 points in their victory. If only the two events Pioneer swam were tallied, the Dons would have won 18-12.

Special congratulations to Lorelei Rojo and Adriana Lopez for breaking the 100 Season’s Point Total at today’s meet. We anticipate Carolina Moore breaking 100 points after the Whittier Meet.

JV Girls win a tight one 87-65

JV girls proved the maxim about winning dual meets… its what you #2 and #3 swimmer does that wins dual meets. JV girls only took 1st place in four of the ten events; Medley Relay, 200 Free (Micaela Peña), 50 Free (Ashley Torres), and Naomi Vargas (50 Breast). Of those races, only the 50 Breast didn’t go 1st-2nd to the Dons. But the 50 Free stood out for the Blue-Grey as Torres, Charlin Bravo, and Emily Carillo swept the podium 1-2-3.

Although the JV team only took 4 – 1st place victories, they managed to win 5 out of the 10 events by points total, a good indication of how your #2 and #3 swimmers did. In events like the 50 Fly and 100 Free, where we lost in points, we only lost by 2 (7-9), and made up for it in the 200 (12-3) and 50 Free (13-3).

Micaela Peña (94) looks to be the first JV Girl to break 100 season points at the next meet.
