El Rancho 52-122 La Serna

A few blue-grey linings emerge in the 52-122 loss to La Serna. Due to a double DQ in the Medley Relay, El Rancho started off the meet with a 1st-3rd victory. This is the sole event that El Rancho would win on points, but individually, El Rancho would add two more 1st place victories, a 2nd place finish, and two 3rd place finishes.

David Tarazon, along with Michael Matchan, Jeremy Alonso, and Castor Villegas, took 1st in the Medley relay. Jay Vera replaced Jeremy Alonso in the above group to make the 400 Free Relay, and that team took 3rd. Alonso earned an individual 3rd in the 500 Free and Matchan took 2nd in an exciting 100 Breaststroke. Tarazon also took first in the 200 Free and the 100 Backstroke. In both races, Tarazon jumped out with an early lead, and held off the Lancers to take victory by half a body length.

Tarazon broke the 2 min mark in his 200 Free and Vera broke the 1 min mark in his 100 Free. Alonso dropped 3 more seconds in his 500 while Plata dropped 5.

Alonso, who earned 13 points against La Serna to bring his season total to 105, joined Matchan (148), Villegas (168), and Tarazon (182) in the Century Club.

JV Boys lose to La Serna 27-109. La Serna would win all 10 events by points and the highest finish would be four 3rd place finishes and one 2nd place.

Fausto Gonzalez dropped 12 sec in his 200 Free, breaking the 3 minute barrier.
