Unofficial Meet Against Pioneer

110-42, But That's Just Between You and Me

Wednesday morning, we got the text. The ASSIGNOR doesn't have enough officials to cover our Thursday meet. Because of some fieldtrips happening on Friday and what's left of our schedule, we decided to have on "unofficial meet." No ref, no problem. The Pioneer meet was scheduled during a bye week, and because we have to schedule practices months in advance for the Greater Whittier Aquatic Center (GWAC... pronounced like Guac-amole), running through an unofficial swim meet was the best option. Coach Berryhill was our un-official official.

There were a few last minute swaps for the heat sheet, as well. Jay Vera claimed that he "swam the cycle" with that final move, but we'll still need to verify it in the database. Vincent Mejia also checked off the 500 Free off his to-do list.

There wasn't any CIF near qualifying swims, but the AquaDons did pull three event sweeps - 200 Free (Robert Robles, Fausto Gonzalez, and Ismael Juarez), 500 Free (Michael Matchan, Vincent Mejia, and Jay Vera), and 100 Breast (Michael Matchan, Vincent Mejia, and Jay Vera). All three relays took first, but two of them were uncontested.

100 POINTS

David Tarazon and Michael Matchan broke the 100 point mark with their 28/28 points totals. Michael hit 102 and David hit 108. Jay Vera (22/28), Vincent Mejia (24/28), and Jeremy Alonso (26/28) should be the next three to pass the century mark with 91, 84,  and 86 points respectfully. Robert Robles had a big day scoring 19/28 points. The rest of the team: Ismael Juarez (5/12 points), Fausto (6/14), Daniel Bautista (16/28), and Nico Gonzalez (4/12).
