CIF Results and Updated Records
With 12 Swimmers qualifying for CIF Southern Section Division 4 Prelims, there's a lot to recap. This year, the top 18 swimmers return to CIF Finals, 1-9 for the Championship Finals, 10-18 for the Consolation Finals. After the 6-hour prelims, this is how it all shakes out for Saturday:
Girls 200 Medley Relay Team (Rojo, Moore, Lopez, Lemus) will return for the Consolation Finals seeded in a tie for 10th place.
Boys 200 Medley Relay Team (Tarazon, Matchan, Alonso, Villegas) will return for the Championship Finals seeded in 6th place.
David Tarazon is seeded 12th in the 200 Freestyle Consolation Finals and has a good chance to win it.
Michael Matchan is 1st alternate in the 200 Individual Medley.
Lorelei Rojo is seeded 3rd in the 100 Fly Championship Finals.
Jeremey Alonso finished in 25th place for the 100 Fly.
Adriana Lopez is seeded in 17th place for the 100 Free Consolation Finals.
Castor Villegas finished 31st in the 50 Free.
Jeremy Alonso is seeded 18th in the 500 Free Consolation Finals.
Boys 200 Free Relay Team (Villegas, Vera, Elias, Mejia) are seeded 17th in the Consolation Finals. They are within 1-sec of taking the #5 School Record, and Saturday will be the last chance for seniors Villegas and Elias.
Lorelei Rojo is seeded 3rd in the 100 Backstroke Championship Final.
David Tarazon is seeded 6th in the 100 Backstroke Championship Final.
Adriana Lopez is seeded 18th in the 100 Breast Consolation Final.
Danielle Martin finished 25th in the 100 Breast Consolation Final.
Michael Matchan is 2nd alternate for the 100 Breast.
Girls 400 Free Relay (Lemus, Moore, Lopez, Rojo) are seeded 13th in the Consolation Final.
Boys 400 Free Relay (Tarazon, Villegas, Vera, Matchan) are seeded 8th in the Championship Final.
Special congratulations for School Record holders:
Adriana Lopez improves her #5 100 Free School Record from 1:02.98 to 1:02.37.
Girls 400 Free Relay Team improved their #4 School Record from 4:24.39 to 4:23.47.
Jeremy Alonso sets the new #4 School Record in the 500 Free with a time of 5:44.90, displacing Jose Navarro's #5 2006 swim of 5:46.67 off the books.
