Just two days after the AquaDons victory over Pioneer, we traveled to Montebello to battle the Schurr Spartans. Out 6-man team was outnumbered and outswam on the scorecard, but a few boys had a significant drop in times.
In the three relays, the Spartans took the first two races, 8-4 and 12-2, before the AquaDons finished the last relay with an 8-4 win, but a 14-24 overall loss. The Spartans took all the individual races 31-82. Captains Robert ROBLES and Daniel BAUTISTA were able to take 2nd place in the 50/100 and 100 Back, respectively.
Congrats to the AquaDons that dropped times in 8 instances:
Fernando ANTONIO set a Personal Best in the 200 Free, 0.07 in the 100 Fly, and 0.78 sec in his leg of the 400 Free Relay. Jared GONZALEZ dropped 0.01 of a sec in the 50 Free and 1.1 sec in the 100 Free. Mateo RAMIREZ swam the 500 for the first time and not only set his Personal Best time, but has also over taken his teammates for the Best Time of the Season. Devin CLARDY dropped a massive 4.41 in his 100 Breast and 2.61 sec on his leg of the 400 Free Relay.
Captain Robert ROBLES and Junior Rookie Devin CLARDY lead the team with 18 points each with Captain BAUTISTA and ANTONIO with 17 and 16 points respectively. RAMIREZ and GONZALEZ finished up with 10 and 8 points. ANTONIO and CLARDY have cleared the 100 point line with three weeks left in the season, and Captain ROBLES just missed it by 0.5 points. I bet he's cursing that tie against Paramount.
Ruben Magallanes put in another shift, swimming the 50 and 100 Free. That's 12 points for the day and 45 JV points for the season. Keep it up Ruben!
