Good Morning!

Happy Wednesday!

Miss Bailey and Miss Godsell are looking forward to seeing you for our final whole class Google Meet session this afternoon at 1.30pm! Remember, if you want to, you can dress up as a book character on the call to celebrate World Book Day which is tomorrow!

Please see below for today's video!

Click the tree for today's Collective Worship
Click on Scrap to go to his map. Can you find the letter for this week?

Phonics

This week, we have been learning all about the letter 'k'.

Today we are thinking about objects that start with the 'k' sound. Can you spot anything around your house that starts with 'k'?

Listen to the StoryBots song - what things do you see in the song that start with k?

Next use the iSpy picture - how many things can you spot that start with the 'k' sound?

If you're looking for some (optional) extra work, try and write a list of them in your book!

English

First today, we would love for you to practice writing your name. Using your name writing card, practise overwriting your name and then in the blank box you can write it all by yourself.

Make sure that you are holding your pen properly and writing your letters correctly - starting in the right place and only using capital letters for the first letter.

Don't forget to send your learning to us on Evidence Me! We need to see at least 1 piece of English work each week!

Yesterday we read the traditional tale of 'The Little Red Hen'.

Can you remember the story? Try and tell your grown up the different parts of the story - what happened at the beginning? What happened in the middle? What happened at the end?

Today we would like you to think about your favourite character. In your Home Learning pack there is a sheet (at right) for you to complete the task on. If you don't have your Home Learning Pack, you can just draw it in your book. Once you have chosen your favourite character, draw them on the page. When you have drawn them, try and label at least 2 features that they have. Use your phonics to help you try and sound out the word.

When you have done that tell your grown up why they are your favourite character.

Maths

This week we are looking at odd numbers. Our number of the day today is 5.

In your Home Learning Pack there is a Number of the Day sheet for you to complete. You can practice writing it, counting it, looking at the numbers that come before it and after it, finding it and drawing it.

You can also look at the Numberblocks video about number 5.

Today we are going to be thinking about things we do in the daytime, and things we do at night time. This helps us to begin to have a concept of time.

There are lots of things we do in the daytime such as go to school, eat our lunch and play. Some of the things we do at night time include have a bath, put our pyjamas on, and go to bed!

Can you think of something you do during the daytime, and something you do at night time?

Have a look through these PowerPoint slides with your grown up. Talk to them about what you can see in each picture, and tell them if we do this during the day or at night. We might do some of these things both in the daytime and at night!

After you have looked through the PowerPoint, draw two things in your workbook that you do during the day, and two things you do at night!

Afternoon Activity - Google Meet and PE

After our Google Meet at 1.30, its time to get your body moving as we join in with some exercises and yoga!

Start with the action song video 'Shake your Sillies Out'. This will get your body warmed up, ready for our yoga session!

Story Time!

Today we are continuing to listen to stories by Mick Inkpen. Today's story is another about Kipper the dog, and it's called 'Little Kipper's Picnic'. I hope that you enjoy it!

Don't forget we love to see your lovely learning on EvidenceMe, or get your grown ups to email us pictures of all your hard work!

Grown Ups if you need us, please don't hesitate to contact us via email.
