Good Morning!

We hope you all had a brilliant Monday! Miss Bailey really enjoyed seeing some of you on your Google Meets session yesterday, and hearing all your noisy objects!

Here is today's video!

Click the tree for today's Collective Worship
Click on Scrap to go to his map. Can you find the letter for this week?

Phonics

Yesterday we started learning a new letter 'o'.

Watch the video below which recaps on some of the letters we already know and continues to explore the letter 'o'. Afterwards you can watch the Alphablocks video about 'o'.

English

We are really pleased with how well your name writing is developing at home! Today we would like you to practice overwriting your name first, then write it yourself using your name card for support. Remember to only use a capital letter at the beginning of your name, and use the SNAPPY CROCODILE to make sure you are holding the pencil correctly!

This week we are continuing with our 'People Who Help Us' topic, thinking about people who build things for us.

Look outside your window. What can you see? Can you see houses? Tall Buildings? Maybe you can see a school, a church or a playground! Can you see roads? Footpaths? All of these things were built by builders and construction workers, and thats how builders, carpenters and construction workers are people who help us.

Today we are going to listen to a story we have read before, but it is one of my favourites. Can you listen to the story, joining in with the actions? All of the machinery helps construction workers to build!

After you have listened to the story Tip Tip, Dig Dig, in your book, we would like you to draw something that construction workers, builders and carpenters have helped to make. Whilst you do that you might like to listen to this song about the different kinds of tools that they use.

Maths

Today we are continuing to practice our number formation.

First, practice overwriting your numbers by playing Trace to the Beat. Click the picture to go to the game and then select numbers. You can trace the numbers using your fingers and that will help with our main activity.

Next we would like you to complete the following pages (8, 9, 10) from your Number Formation booklet. Remember to start at the green dot and follow the direction of the arrow!

Afternoon Activity - Expressive Arts

This week we are thinking about how builders and construction workers help us. So today we are gong to practice being builders too! Here are some different pictures of buildings. Have a look through them and think about the different kinds of buildings that there are.

Now you have had a look at some of the building in the community, have a go a building one. You can use lego, duplo, bricks, cardboard - anything you would like to build with you can use. Here are some pictures to inspire you! Scroll through to see some different building you could make.

Once you have made a building, ask your grown up to take a photo of it and send it to us on Evidence Me. We would love to see what fantastic builders we have in Nursery!

Story Time!

This week in story time we are reading stories by Eric Carle. One of his most popular stories is 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', and that is what we are going to listen to today!

In the story he eats lots of different fruits and other food - what is your favourite food to eat?

Don't forget we love to see your lovely learning on EvidenceMe, or get your grown ups to email us pictures of all your hard work!

Grown Ups if you need us, please don't hesitate to contact us via email.
