Good Morning!

Happy Wednesday! Miss Bailey and Miss Godsell are looking forward to seeing you in our Google Meets session this afternoon at 1.30pm.

See below for today's video!

Phonics

This week, we have been learning all about the letter 'o'.

Today we are thinking about objects that start with the 'o' sound. Can you spot anything around your house that starts with o?

Listen to the StoryBots song - what things do you see in the song that start with o?

Next use the iSpy picture - how many things can you spot that start with the 'o' sound?

If you're looking for some (optional) extra work, try and write a list of them in your book.

English

First today, we would love for you to practice writing your name. Using your name writing card, practise overwriting your name and then in the blank box you can write it all by yourself.

Make sure that you are holding your pen properly and writing your letters correctly - starting in the right place and only using capital letters for the first letter.

Yesterday you read the story 'Tip, Tip, Dig, Dig', and thought about how builders and construction workers help us. Can you remember some of the different types of vehicles in the story, and what they are used for?

Listen to this song about building a house. Listen carefully to what the different parts of a house are called. You can join in using lego bricks or building blocks from your home!

We hope you enjoyed building your house! Can you remember the names of the different parts of a house? Yes, you are right! When constructing a house, the builder needs to make the floor, build the walls and the roof! The house is usually built with bricks, and you can also see the windows, doors and chimney on the outside of a house!

Click on the house picture to print it off and label it, listening really carefully for the initial sounds. If you can hear any other sounds in the words, write those down too! You might want to use a word mat to help you, or your grown up can write the letters for you to overwrite or copy!

If you do not have a printer, your grown up can draw a picture of a house in your workbook for you to label.

Maths

Today in Maths we are going to continue to practice our counting and quantity matching skills. To start with we are going to play this counting game on Espresso. Use your finger to carefully count each image. What is the total? Click the picture to see if you are right! Remember to only count each image once.

You will need your Espresso login to access the game. Click on the picture to go straight to Espresso.

Next you are going to play a quantity matching game with your grown up! Your grown up can read the instructions opposite and make some cards for your game.

You need to make 5 number cards with 1 - 5 written on them, and 5 cards with 1 to 5 spots drawn on them. Turn them all over and take it in turns to turn two cards over. Can you match the number you have chosen to the correct number of spots?

Remember to count the spots carefully, pointing to each one only once!

Who won??!

Afternoon Activity - Google Meet and PE

After our Google Meet at 1.30, its time to get your body moving as we join in with some exercises and dancing!

Start with the '5 Minute Move' warm up with the Body Coach, Joe Wicks. Warming up our muscles up before we start moving is important so that we don't hurt them!

Next you can join in with this fun 'Move and Freeze' video. Listen really carefully so you know when to copy the actions, and when to stop!

Story Time!

Today we are continuing to listen to stories by Eric Carle. This story is called 'The Very Busy Spider'!

Don't forget we love to see your lovely learning on EvidenceMe, or get your grown ups to email us pictures of all your hard work!

Grown Ups if you need us, please don't hesitate to contact us via email.
