Good Morning!

Well done for completing nearly a whole half term of home learning! We are so proud of all the effort you have all been going to to complete the home learning tasks. You are all super stars! Thank you also to all the grown ups for your continued support.

Don't forget to send in your work via EvidenceMe, or via email. We will be able to send feedback back to you. If you can, we would love to see at least 2 pieces of work from you in the week, try for at least 1 English or phonics and 1 Maths.

Please see below for this morning's video!

Click on Scrap to go to his map. Can you find the letter for this week?

Phonics

This week we are learning about the letter o.

Have you seen this letter anywhere before? Is it in your name?

Let's start by watching Scrap's Phonics video. Listen out for words that start with the 'o' sound.

After that, listen to the Jolly Phonics song for 'o'.

English

Well done if you have been practicing your name writing everyday! We have been really impressed with the photos we have seen on EvidenceMe. Everyone is making sure they are using the SNAPPY CROCODILE pencil gip, and we can see your letter formation developing!

Using your name writing card, practise overwriting your name and then in the blank box you can write it all by yourself.

Make sure that you are holding your pen properly and writing your letters correctly - starting in the right place and only using capital letters for the first letter.

Today we are going to practice our fine motor skills.

In your Home Learning Packs you will find a booklet called 'Pencil Control Workbook'. Please turn to the last page showing the animals and their homes (please see an image of this page on the left hand side here). Can you carefully follow the zig-zag lines to get the animals home?

After you have done that we are going to continue to make our muscles strong in our hands by following the actions to 'Down in the Jungle'.

If you have some play dough, please use this as in the video. If not, you can follow the actions just using your hands!

Maths

Today we are going to practice our number recognition. To start this morning, you are going to play 'Helicopter Rescue'. Click on the link here and choose the '1 to 10' tab to play the game, recognising numbers up to 10. Perhaps you could challenge yourself to move on, playing the '1 to 20' game!

Now that you have had some number recognition practice, it is time to play a game! Ask a grown up to write the numbers 0-10 on a piece of paper and hide them around a room. Go on a hunt for all the numbers! Each time you find a number, tell a grown up which number you have found.

Extra challenge: You could try using a timer too - can you find and name all the numbers before the timer runs out?!

Afternoon Activity - RE & Live Sessions

Message for grown ups:

If your child is taking part in the live sessions this afternoon, please complete RE on Friday afternoon instead. If your child is taking part in Friday's live sessions, please complete RE today!

After the live session, your child can complete an activity from the self choice chart if they wish!

This week in RE we are continuing to look at special stories from The Bible. Today's story is called The Parable of the Lost Sheep.

A parable is a story that Jesus told that had a special meaning. The Parable of the Lost sheep is a story Jesus told.

Click on the link to listen to the story.

Do you think the shepherd was a kind man? What makes you think this?

After you have listened to the story, try to make your own sheep picture. You could use paint for this, or even cotton wool to make the sheep fluffy! Have a look at the examples below. Afterwards, can you help the shepherd find his lost sheep by using a pencil or your finger to find a way from the start of the maze to the end? You may need a grown up to help you with this tricky puzzle!

If you joined Miss Bailey for the live session today, you can complete an activity from this self choice chart if you want to.

Story Time!

This week at story time, we are going to be listening to stories by the author Eric Carle.

Today's story is called '1, 2, 3, To The Zoo'. Can you count along? Which animal is your favourite?

Don't forget we love to see your lovely learning on EvidenceMe, or get your grown ups to email us pictures of all your hard work!

Grown Ups if you need us, please don't hesitate to contact us via email.
