Phonics Video - 'm'

English
We have been impressed by all the fabulous name writing you have been doing at home! Today we would like you to practice overwriting your name first, then write it yourself using your name card for support. Remember to use the SNAPPY CROCODILE to make sure you are holding the pen correctly!
People Who Help Us
This week we are going to be learning about people who help us. Look through the PowerPoint slide with your grown up for some examples. There are videos to watch too. You can talk about each one with your grown up, and think of some others too.
In your workbook, write a list of people who help us, from both the PowerPoint and ones you can think of yourself. Can you write a list of 5?
We would like you to listen carefully for the initial sound in each word and write it down. If you can hear any subsequent sounds, write them down too! Remember to use a secure pencil grip, and if you are finding the letter formation tricky, your grown up can write it first in a yellow or orange pencil for you to trace over!
Maths
This is a very busy picture! Have a look at it very carefully and talk to your grown up about what you can see.
Try to find the answers to these questions:
How many people are in the yellow bus?
What shape are the windows on the house?
How many different modes of transport are in the picture?
Can you spot something in the picture that is a circle shape?
Next we would like yo to complete these pages of your number formation booklet. Remember to start on the green spot and follow the arrow in order to form the number correctly.
Afternoon Activity
Today we are going to be thinking about opposites. Watch this video - do you think you can guess what the opposite is as you listen to the song?
Using the poster to help you, try and find things in your house that are opposites. You might like to draw them or take photos to send to us via evidence me or email. An example could be awake and asleep and you could draw yourself asleep in bed and then awake, or sweet and sour and you could find some sweets and then a sour lemon. Try and find at least 2 examples.
Story Time!
This afternoon, watch this video about lots of different people who help us. Did you think of any of these people earlier?
Don't forget we love to see your lovely learning on EvidenceMe, or get your grown ups to email us pictures of all your hard work!
Grown Ups if you need us, please don't hesitate to contact us via email.
