Good Morning!

We hope you enjoyed completing the World Book Day activities yesterday! Miss Godsell also enjoyed seeing some of you at our Google Meet sessions!

We have now come to the end of our home learning! Well done to all of you for all of your hard work that you have been completing at home since January! We are super proud of you all and look forward to seeing you at school next week!

Please see below for today's video!

Phonics

This week we have been learning the sound 'k' and since you started in Nursery you have learned all the letters below:

s a t p i n m d g o c k

That is lots of learning!

Today we are going to think about hearing the initial sound in words - that's the first sound you can hear when you say the word.

Look at the pictures below. Can you say what sound they start with?

Did you say t, c, p, n, c and s? Well done!

It can take practice to hear the initial sounds, but the more you practice the better you will get!

Today we would like you to complete the initial sounds activity sheet in your home learning pack.

Look at the picture in the middle, say it out loud and then circle which sound it starts with.

English

First, practice writing your name. Because it's FUN Friday though... you might like to practice it in a different way! Instead of using a writing pencil, you could use coloured markers or crayons. You could try and write your name in a tray of flour or salt. Maybe you could roll out some play dough and write your name in that! However if you would prefer to do it how we normally do - thats fantastic too!

Today we are going to practice our fine motor skills.

When we are practicing holding our pencil, it is really important that we are trying to use a tripod grip, using 3 fingers and a snappy crocodile to hold our pen or pencil. Today we would like you to complete the elephant and monkey tracing sheets in your Home Learning Pack. When you have carefully traced the shape to draw them, you can colour them in, trying to colour neatly and stay inside of the lines!

Maths

This week we are looking at odd numbers. Our number of the day today is 9.

In your Home Learning Pack there is a Number of the Day sheet for you to complete. You can practice writing it, counting it, looking at the numbers that come before it and after it, finding it and drawing it.

You can also look at the Numberblocks video about number 9.

On Wednesday in Maths, we started to think about time, and things we do in the daytime, and things we do at night time. Can you remember something you do during the day, and something you do at night?

Today we are going to think about this a bit more through exploring how we use a clock to tell the time. Grown ups use clocks everyday so that they know what time it is. The numbers on the clock help us to know what the time is.

Look at the clocks below and ask your grown up to show you the 'hands'. The hands move around the clock, pointing at different numbers throughout the day. On the clocks below, we look at the numbers the hands are pointing to, to help us tell the time.

On this clock, I can see that the big hand is pointing at the number 12, and the small hand is pointing at the number 1. This means it's 1 o'clock!

On this clock, I can see that the big hand is pointing at the number 12, and the small hand is pointing at the number 9. This means it's 9 o'clock!

You are now going to play this 'What's the Time, Mr Wolf?' game, remembering to look at what number the small hand of the clock is pointing to, to help you read the time. It is quite tricky to read the time on a clock, so your grown up can help you too!

To access the game, click on the link here which will take you to the TwinklGo! website. You will need to enter the following pin code to enter the site: NJ3157

I hope you enjoyed playing that game! Please now find the sheet shown below in your home learning pack. Cut out the pictures and glue them into your book in order of what you do in a day!

As an extra (optional) challenge, you could try to write next to each picture what time it happens!

Afternoon Activity - RE

Message for grown ups:

If your child is took part in a 1:1 session on Monday, please complete RE today.

Last week we began looking at the Creation Story. This is the way that Christian's believe that God created the world.

You will remember that Christian's believe that God created the world in 7 days, each day creating something new and special. You can re-watch this video to remind yourself of some of the different things that God created, and talk about them with your grown up.

The last two pages in your home learning pack a story sequencing activity (please see the sheets below). Today you will cut out the pictures from the first sheet and stick them onto the second sheet in the correct order. You can use the video to remind yourself of what was created each day, and see if you can cut out some of the pictures by yourself!

Story Time!

This week at story time, we have been listening to stories by the author Mick Inkpen.

Today we are going to listen to 'The Blue Balloon'.

We hope you enjoy it and have a lovely weekend. We will see you at school next week!

Don't forget we love to see your lovely learning on EvidenceMe, or get your grown ups to email us pictures of all your hard work!

Grown Ups if you need us, please don't hesitate to contact us via email.
