Good Morning!

We really enjoyed seeing you all on our live session yesterday! We hope you enjoyed it too! If you did not manage to make it, we hope to see you next week!

Please click on the video below, which gives you an outline of today's learning!

Click the tree for today's Collective Worship
Click on Scrap to go to his map. Can you find the letter for this week?

Phonics

Today your phonics task is to play I-Spy. Have a careful look at the pictures below. What can you see that starts with 'm'? Click on Scrap to re-watch the Espresso video.

Can you name each image? What sound does it start with?

Look carefully at the picture. Which images start with 'm'?

English

m phonics worksheet.pdf

Your English task today is a continuation of Phonics. Ask your grown up to print off the sheet 'M Phonics Activity Sheet'. Look carefully at the different pictures. Name each picture, and with the support of your grown up, listen carefully to the initial sound. Colour in any of the pictures starting with 'm'.

If you do not have access to a printer, your grown up could draw a variety of pictures in your workbook, some that do start with 'm', and some that don't. Colour in the pictures that start with 'm'.

Maths

Today we are going to be looking at repeating patterns. A repeating pattern is where the rule keeps repeating over and over. For example, take a look at the bear pictures opposite. The first picture shows a row of bears in the colours blue and green; the repeating pattern is blue bear, green bear, blue bear, green bear, and so on. It never changes. The same rule applies to the red and yellow bears. Can you tell your grown up what colour bear would go next in each of these patterns?

Next, click on the picture here to play the 'Make Your Own Pattern' game. This will help you prepare for your main task. Grown ups - you will have to sign up to this website in order to play the game.

We hope you enjoyed playing the pattern game, and that you now have a better understanding of repeating patterns! Your final Maths task today is to create your own repeating pattern using objects from around your home. For example, you could use cups and plates, two different colours of building blocks, or different pasta shapes! Have a look at these pictures to help you.

We would love to see the patterns you create! Your grown up could take a picture of your pattern and send it to us via email or EvidenceMe!

Afternoon Activity

This afternoon we are continuing the pattern theme! We would like you to create your own pattern picture! You can be as creative as you wish. You may want to use paints to design a hand print pattern. You could use felt tips to draw a shape pattern. Have a look at these pictures to help you!

Story Time!

This afternoon's story is called 'Short and Tall' by Eric Carle, all about short and tall! Listen carefully to the vocabulary used as this will help you with tomorrow's maths activity!

Don't forget we love to see your lovely learning on EvidenceMe, or get your grown ups to email us pictures of all your hard work!

Grown Ups if you need us, please don't hesitate to contact us via email.
