Good Morning!

Well done Nursery for completing another week of Home Learning!

Miss Godsell is looking forward to seeing some of you at 1.00pm and 1.30pm today for our Google Meet sessions!

Don't forget to send in your work via EvidenceMe, or via email. We will be able to send feedback back to you. If you can, we would love to see at least 2 pieces of work from you in the week, try for at least 1 English or phonics and 1 Maths. You could choose your favourite pieces of work from this week to send to us!

Please see below for this morning's video!

Click on Scrap to go to his map. Can you find the letter for this week?

Phonics

Today is our last day learning the letter 'g'! You could watch Scrap's video again, or sing the Jolly Phonics song.

Today we're going to make silly soup! Remember to make silly soup we put in as many different things that we can find that start with the sound 'g'.

We mix them altogether and sing the silly soup song (to the tune of 'Pop Goes the Weasel')

I'm making silly soup,

I'm making soup that's silly.

I'm going to cook it in the fridge,

to make it nice and chilly!

Brrrrrrrr!

Can you make a bowl of silly soup at your house with things that start with 'g'?

OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: In your work book draw a bowl with the different ingredients you put in your soup. Try and label them - even if you can only hear the first sound!

English

First, practice writing your name. Because it's FUN Friday though... you might like to practice it in a different way! Instead of using a writing pencil, you could use coloured markers or crayons. You could try and write your name in a tray of flour or salt. Maybe you could roll out some play dough and write your name in that! However if you would prefer to do it how we normally do - thats fantastic too!

Today we are going to practice our listening skills.

Today we would like you to watch this video and listen to the different sounds in the video. Today they are mostly sounds that you would hear at school. How many did you guess correctly?

After listening to the sounds on the video go for a listening walk around your house. What sounds can you hear? Can you hear the fridge buzzing Can you hear footsteps? Can you hear cars passing by? Draw a picture in your work book of 3 things that you can hear.

OPTIONAL: Try to label the things that you can hear.

Maths

Today we are measuring how long things are. This is called measuring length. We use words such as long, short, longer and shorter.

Look at these pictures of caterpillars - some are longer, some are shorter. Can you tell your grown up which is the longest caterpillar? Which is the shortest?

Today I would like you to use your playdough. Roll out a work from your playdough that is about the same length as your hand. I would then like you to make some different length worms, some longer, some shorter!

OPTIONAL CHALLENGE: Can you order your worms from shortest to longest? Send me a picture on Evidence Me of your worms!

Afternoon Activity - RE & Live Sessions

Message for grown ups:

If your child is taking part in the live sessions this afternoon, you will have completed the RE lesson on Monday. If your child is took part in Monday's live sessions, please complete RE today!

After the live session, your child can complete an activity from the self choice chart if they wish!

Today in RE we are going to continue to hear special stories from the bible. Today's story is about Jesus healing a blind man.

If you are blind, it means that you cannot see. It can make things much harder for you to do. Close your eyes and try to draw a picture on some paper - no peeking! - did you find that hard?

To help make things a little easier for people who may be blind, there are many things around that can help. Sometimes people who are blind learn to read with their fingers, using special bumps on paper. Sometimes they might have a guide dog who helps them to walk safely in the street, or they might have a special walking stick too.

When Jesus was alive these things to help might not have been around to help you if you were blind. Today we are going to listen to the story of when Jesus helped a blind man to see again.

JesusHealsABlindManSheet.docx

After listening to the story today, think about how the blind man felt once he could see again. You can do this on the sheet, or in your work book.

You can also choose to do the colouring in sheet if you would like too.

If you joined Miss Godsell for the live session today, you can complete an activity from this self choice chart if you want to.

Story Time!

This week at story time, we have been listening to stories by the author Nick Butterworth. He wrote all the stories we have heard this week.

Today we are going to watch 'The Lost Acorns'.

We hope you enjoy it!

Don't forget we love to see your lovely learning on EvidenceMe, or get your grown ups to email us pictures of all your hard work!
