We will look into India's PEGS systems based on British colonization and then how the systems of PEGS changed once they became independent.

Overview

What do you know about the world's largest democracy? Why did the British colonize this mega subcontinent? What were the effects? India is a colorful country with an equally colorful history. We will begin with seeing how India participates in the modern economy with its focus on outsourcing and then go back in time to see how India has evolved into the country it is today.

Part One

Getting to learn about India PEGS by exploring different topics

Directions: Create a chart or foldable to record information about PEGS in India. You should have 2-3 facts from each station to record your notes. For each station, write which system of PEGS seems to be the most important at the top of the page.

Part Two

Comparing India's economic development to what we learned about with China.

You will then complete the Venn diagram to show the similarities and differences between India and China based on their roles in globalization.
