Political System (conflict analysis)/Japan & the Korean Peninsula

In this unit we will explore how the political system can have tremendous effects on countries and all systems of PEGS. The essential questions will be driven around how political systems develop, change, and have lasting effects.

We will begin by looking at the Ancient Japan and then see how Japan acquired and lost power over time. We then focus on how Japan's role in World War II and how the war had profound impacts on the systems of PEGS. We will look at how Japan went from a dictatorship to a major world power.


The Korean Peninsula

Following WWII the world move into another war, the Cold War. One country that was profoundly changed by this war was in Korea which then split into North Korea and South Korea. While the war is technically still ongoing and there is no resolution, all systems of PEGS have been changed as a result of the conflict.
