Directions:

1. Read the article and see how each system of PEGS is important to the main ideas. Flip the title of the article into a question. As you read write notes that would answer the question. Then you have the main idea!

2. Annotate the article as you read to record important ideas about each system of PEGS. Complete the graphic organizer in the Cornell notes to record the ways PEGS played a role in the story.

3.Then evaluate which system of PEGS was the most important. Write a thesis statement and provide evidence that proves it
