Spanish 1- El Tiempo

Monday/ Tuesday- Finish the notes in the El Tiempo packet. Complete examples together of addition and subtraction of minutes from the next highest hour. Use practice comprehension pages to identify different uses of vocabulary. 

Wed- Complete Que Hora Es on Classroom. Practice telling time with El Reloj and a partner. Practice pronunciation. 

Thursday- Warm up- Complete Parte A Achievement Test. Get El Horario Notes. Fill out the class schedule matrix. 

Friday- Complete the Calendar mock-quiz with classes, dates, and times. 

Presentational- Communicate with emerging awareness of pronunciation, spelling, and mechanics to increase comprehensibility. Communicate with appropriate language in written and spoken language. 

Interpersonal literacy- Continue and extend conversations. Increase comprehensibility and clarity of expression. Infer meaning of unfamiliar language. 

Spanish 2-

Monday- Work on Preguntas Personales 2

Tuesday- Work on Preguntas Personales 2. 

Wednesday- Turn in Preguntas Personales 2. 

Thursday- Friday- Work on pg 11 in the reflexive packet with a partner. Identify new vocabulary. 

Presentational- Communicate with emerging awareness of pronunciation, spelling, and mechanics to increase comprehensibility. Communicate with appropriate language in written and spoken language. 

Interpersonal literacy- Continue and extend conversations. Increase comprehensibility and clarity of expression. Infer meaning of unfamiliar language. 

Spanish 3- Reflexives Packet

All week- Work through the reflexive packet together. Practice verb conjugation, pronoun placement, and the continued use of grammar rules: personal a, 2 verb rule, stem-changing, first-person irregulars, etc. Identify new vocabulary based on known word families to help negotiate new meanings. 

Interpersonal literacy- Continue and extend conversations. Increase comprehensibility and clarity of expression. Infer meaning of unfamiliar language. 


Spanish 4- Mandatos

Monday- Complete the last 8 count of the commands dance and 

Tuesday- Get directional notes. Write directions to your house (or to the park). Practice for the obstacle course. 

Wednesday-Friday- Guide a blind-folded partner through an obstacle course with the tu mandatos. 

Interpersonal literacy- Continue and extend conversations. Increase comprehensibility and clarity of expression.

Culture- 

Monday- Look at the Street Food image on GC and react. Discuss Us v. Them mentality. Original prompt- What happens when tradition conflicts with personal health. 

Tuesday- Start the History of Spanish Slides 1-27. TSW answer questions from the presentation in the guided notes. 

Wednesday-History of Spanish: The Arabic Influence slides 28-41. Answer the comprehension questions about the Arabic influence as we progress.

Thursday- Start Indigineous Peoples Unit. EdPuzzle- Aztecs, Tenochtitlan C6S3. Discuss the episode. Us vs. Them mentality. 

Friday- History Channel- Mayan Empire. Answer the comprehension questions. Discuss Popol Vuh- Mayan Creation story. 

Coming up-  Watch Roseanne clip- Pitz Game. Pictures from Chichen Itza. Study the Mayan writing page and pass around the Mayan Calendar. Watch Mayan math EdPuzzle. Read the Mayan Ice Mummies article from NOVA. Watch Inca- Secrets of the Lost Empires Watch National Geographic- The Great Inca Rebellion. Fill in the Venn Diagram for the Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas.
