Spanish 1-

Monday- Review and practice pronunciation of names. Find common characteristics in the names for each gender and compare them to common English names. 

Tuesday- Practice names. Set up notebook sections. Google translate, Wordreference.com, dictionary comparison page 1-5. Jimmy Fallon- Google Translate Songs with Camila Cabello

Wednesday- Review names. Review alphabet notes. Discuss Spanish words we use in English.

Thursday- Review names. Review alphabet and pronunciation. Make pronunciation stars. Alphabet song.

Friday- Review names. Practice spelling names. Alphabet song. Practice letters on the board with a partner. Flashcards.

Presentational- Communicate with emerging awareness of pronunciation, spelling, and mechanics to increase comprehensibility. 

Spanish 2- 

Monday- Warm up-present tense conjugation meme (Andar, Correr) Practice pronunciation. Review all 3 types of verb conjugations. Practice verb conjugations and put answers on the board. 

Tuesday- Play Blooket to practice conjugations.

Wednesday- Warm-up. Review conjugation endings with personal white boards. 

 Thursday- Conjugation Race in teams. 

Friday- Practice verb conjugations with Cube & Dice conjugation race.

Spanish 3- All Week

Monday- Finish ser, estar, tener page from Friday. Go over the answers and the rationales for the verb choices. Review stem-changers and reflexive pronouns. Get Pobre Ana. Guided reading.

Tuesday- Read with a partner. Answer CH 1 comprehension questions. Practice pronunciation with choral reading practice. Identify unfamiliar vocabular and add it to the Word Wall.

Interpretive: Comprehend informational media or context. Follow multistep directions.

Interpersonal: Infer meaning of unfamiliar language.

Spanish 4- All week- 

Monday- Juego de la estrella. Finish ser, estar, tener page from Friday. Go over the answers and the rationales for the verb choices. Review stem-changers and reflexive pronouns. 

Tuesday-Friday- Get Pobre Ana. Guided reading. Read with a partner. Answer CH 1 comprehension questions. Practice pronunciation with choral reading practice. Identify unfamiliar vocabular and add it to the Word Wall.


Upcoming- Get the preterit regular conjugation endings and explanation of the past tense construction. Complete the AR practice page on GC.

Culture- Monday- Take a culture pretest quiz on GC and turn it in. Discuss answers in group conversation. 

Tuesday- Dissect the answers based on the value point system on https://cultureplusconsulting.com/2015/06/23/nine-cultural-value-differences-you-need-to-know/ to determine where we fall on the scale. 

Wednesday- Look at the Street Food image on GC and react. Discuss Us v. Them mentality. Original prompt- What happens when tradition conflicts with personal health. 

Thursday- Start the History of Spanish Slides 1-27

Friday-History of Spanish: The Arabic Influence slides 28-41. Answer the comprehension questions about the Arabic influence as we progress.
