Descriptive
The "Descriptive" essay is one in which you will write about something to which you can give a great amount of detail. The topic can be fictional or not, and the focus should be on three things: setting the scene, establishing the characters, and involving some (but only a little) action. Those three things do not have to be sequential; in fact, it is probably most effective if you integrate them throughout the story. Think Steinbeck... he does a great job of describing character and setting and uses actions to support those descriptions.
This piece will be due Friday (March 9th) and you will turn in:
1. A pre-writing part
2. An extensively edited draft
3. A final version.
