Happy (Late) Friday!

Week in Review:

What a great week in science! The kids and I learned a great deal from Thomas Zscherpel's demonstrations on static and current electricity, and we began some investigations into basic circuits (more of that on Monday). Tuesday's test on chapter 17 yielded the highest test scores ever (for those that read the book). The kids also made progress on their poster projects and some even began the process of getting enrolled into high school. The trip to San Jose today to see "In The Heights" closed the week on a great note, and I was very impressed by the performance (theirs and ours).

Next Week:

In addition to the regular curricular endeavors, the Science Expo will merge its way into the students work flow. The process will be similar, but not identical to years past, and it will be great to see the kids projects (version 2.0 from the Fall experiments and/or something new) form over the next 6 weeks. I'll discuss details with the students on Tuesday, explain my expectations, and assess their preferences.
