How can I email parents or students for entire classes?

Hover over the "Home" menu, and select "Communication". Pick which classes you wish to include. Select if it is for parents, students, or both. Add a subject line and a message. Note: This email will appear to come directly from your school email, and any replies will come directly to you.

How can I assign Extra Credit?

I have made assignments that are solely extra credit. You still need to give it an Assignment Type (homework, test, etc) to determine what "Type" it counts towards, but you also have to give it an "Assignment Category". The default category is "Normal" which you need to change to "Extra Credit".

Defining the points is a little bit trickier. My extra credit assignment is more classroom based and runs thru the duration of a quarter/semester. I made the max points 10, because I never have a student that gets more points than that. I do have some students with 1 or 2 points right now, and while that technically translates to a 1/10 or 2/10, the grade book still counts it as 1/0 or 2/0 towards the final grade. Students with 0 are not penalized.
