Sharing Spreadsheets

One of the great features of Google Spreadsheets is the ability to share your documents with others.

  • Start by having the document you wish to share open in document editor.

  • Click on the "Share" button and select "Share settings..." from the drop down menu.

  • You can share your document with specific individuals, with everyone in FLASchools.org, or the entire world. You can also decide if those you are sharing with may edit the document, or if they are restricted to viewing only.

  • In the above example, this document is private except for individuals added to the list. To add Teresa Brockman, I simply started typing her name, and the information popped up. This is only true of individuals with established accounts in the FLASchools.org system.

  • All of the users in the above example have sharing privileges to edit this document, but that could be changed by clicking on the drop down list for each user and adjusting as necessary.

  • Once you click the "Share" button, the settings are saved. If you are unhappy with your choices, simply return to the share settings, and make changes to privileges or delete participants.

Sharing with the Public:

If you want your spreadsheet to be viewable by large groups of people, look on the top row of the permissions area, and click the "change" link.
