Google Quiz for Test Scoring

Thank you to our friends in the science department that came up with this creative way to use Google Quiz to score tests through Google Classroom. It works like this:

  1. Teacher creates a typical multiple choice exam. (Essay questions could also be asked, but will not be scored by Google.)

      1. Teacher creates an answer form document (paper) for the students to record their multiple choice answers, and optional essays. (See example tor the right.)

      2. This example answer sheet is also coded for evaluating specific learning standards. Notice that there is a place on the answer sheet for scratch work. This space could also be used for short answer or essay questions.

      3. This link will take you to an generic answer sheet that you can make a copy of and edit for your own use.

  1. Teacher creates a Google Quiz for the exam. The questions are blank. The choices are blank. You must mark the "correct" answer for each question as the key.

  1. Students take the test on paper. They record their answers on the answer sheet.

  1. The test questions are collected, leaving students with only answers sheets. (This is to help prevent cheating.)

  2. Teacher opens "Quiz" to students and allows only 10 minutes or so for students to transfer their answers to the quiz on their device. Teacher watches students' screens for irregularities or students on sites other than the quiz site.

  3. Teachers get scores in Classroom, and immediate feedback, like this:

    1. Teachers can release results to students whenever they are ready.
