Google LTI Assignments

Google LTI Assignments are the replacements for Google Cloud Drive Assignments. Using Google's LTI, you can assign students a template assignment, or you can let them submit something they have created on their own.

  1. Create a new assignment

2. Assign points (MUST MATCH WHAT YOU PUT IN GOOGLE)

3. Set Submission Type to "External Tool"

4. Click the "Find" button.

5. Scroll down and click link to Google Assignments (LTI 1.3)

6. You may be asked to confirm your Google Account.

7. You have a number of options to set here:

a. You can use Google's plagiarism tool.

b. You can attach a Google file that will be made into a copy for each student to work with.

c. Set your point value (MUST MATCH WHAT YOU PUT IN CANVAS)

d. Set your Due Date (MUST MATCH WHAT YOU PUT IN CANVAS)

e. Add a rubric if desired

f. Click the "Create" button to save your options.

8. When you return to the "Configure External Tool" screen, click the maroon "Select" button.

9. Be sure to put in the same Due Date for the Canvas assignment.

10. Scroll down and "Save" or "Save & Publish"
