Google Meet - Live Polls

Polling allows you to ask live poll questions of students on the fly. This tool is a great way to increase student engagement within a Google Meeting, and can be especially beneficial for large group meetings. Here is what you need to know.

Click on the "Activities" icon.

Click the "Polls" option.

Click "Start a poll"

  • Type in your question and possible responses.

  • Click "Launch" to make the question live to participants.

  • Participants will see a brief pop up bubble that they can click. If they miss the opportunity, they will need to go into "Polls" through the "Activities" icon.

  • TIP: Open you meeting long before the actual meeting time, and create your polling questions. Use the "Save" option to make them available later. During your Meet, you can "Launch" questions one by one when appropriate.

  • As the result come in, you have the option of sharing the results with your participants at the time of your choosing.

  • In addition, your poll will stay "Live" (available for responses) until you click "End the Poll".

  • After a meeting has ended, the how will receive an email showing polling result by participant.
