Equiptment:

Zinc powder: around  2 1/2 spatulas

Iron powder: around 3 spatulas

Methalated spirits: mostly covering the thing being burnt

Matches: You know what these do!!

3 Spatulas

fireproof board (or 2 if using paper)

Paper or cotton balls to light on fire

3 pairs of tongs

3 cruicables (with lids)

(If using paper) tray to prepare

Method:

1. Place a cotton ball in a crucible (or paper in a tray depending on which one you will use)

2. Cover most of the cotton ball/ paper in methalayted spirits

      (If it is a cotton ball take the cotton ball out of the crucible now)

3. Distribute the Zinc powder relativly evenly on/over the paper/cotton ball

4. Repeat step 3 with Iron powder instead of Zinc powder

(take the paper out of the tray if you are using paper now)

5. lift up into the air using tongs (two pairs if it is paper)

6. Light and watch it burn (make sure there is nothing near it other than tongs and crucibles)
