I did the fire snake experiment. I used 1:4 baking soda and icing sugar + sand mound + Half a bottle of ethanol

26/2/25 Day 1 making crystals.

Used Sulfuric acid and Copper carbonate to make Copper sulfate

H2SO4 + CuCO3 --> CuSO4 + CO2 (g) + H20

Initially tried to calc it but it didn't work so used pH paper to try and get a neutral solution and got a neutral solution +- 0.5 pH. At ~75 deg had an ~140ml solution which was had too much CuSO4 to fully dissolve.

Plan for next week: Heat up solution to simmering and dissolve as much CuSO4 as possible then filter out remaining undissolved (add until some will sit at bottom of solution).
