Term 1 week 1.

Fineen and I played with hydrogen bubbles. We bought 4 bottles of bubble mix from the 2 dollar store. We used a tote tray to put the bubble mix in. I used the sodium hydroxide and aluminium reaction to get the hydrogen and we funnelled it through a delivery tube. 

We wet a board so that the bubbles would stay on the surface without popping, and found the more effective method for making large bubbles was to blow a bubble with the wand and put that o the surface then stick the tube in to fill it with hydrogen.

Term 1 week 2:

• Worked on hot stuff. I ended up doing all the combustion reactions. Had to revise on all the notes. Shit. Fineen was my assistant for the combustion reactions.

Term 1 week 4

Fineen and I worked on the bubble thing. We made a new bubble mix for stronger bubbles. 6 cups of water + 1 cup dish washing liquid + 1 tbsp Glycerin. 1 cup = 240ml 1 tbsp= 15ml

The bubbles were quite strong except they were too heavy often causing them to pop.

AJ has proposed a LUMA thing where the buskers film experiments which are then projected onto the lab in the box. We have until end of Term 1 to finish our concepts.

Rest of Term One:

Developed different prisms/3d shapes which create 3d bubbles, square, pentagonal, triangular ect.

Developed plan for filming and different bubble mixes.

The practical stuff is pretty much nailed, now need to work on the write up and research.

TERM TWO

Term 2 week 1:

• Need to finish research.

• Organise rest of buskers to get their scripts ready.

• Practice demonstration.
