Nadesan (2008) mentions that Costas Douzinas (2003) "observed that wars fouught under the guise of protecting human rights entail overwhelming material force often implemented in the from of 'police' operations aimed at preventing, deterring, and punishing (purported) criminal perpetrators" (p. 191), and neoliberal states are always at war to get resources, open markets, and keep people "free" (p. 191).
