Composition

According to Tim Peeples and Bill Hart-Davidson, both composition and technical writing "reflects, studies, and extends understanding of a rhetorical emphasis on the contentedness between writer, text, reader, and context. The predominant focus in composition studies has been and continues to be on the writer within this rhetorical network...In contrast, the articulation between rhetoric and professional writing has manifest with greater focus and emphasis on contexts, rather than individual writers" (p. 64).
