Categorical Seduction
Gary T. Marx spoke of police classifications of likely suspects for categorical suspicion, but Lyon tweaked this to categorical seduction referring to being categorized as a consumer. Transactions create information about us, and these provide information about our future purchases. For example, Amazon's "books you may like" have put you in a category of seduction by assuming that based on your choices, you may be inclined to buy certain things (p. 122).
