Security is a large subject and hard to define. Many think of "national security" and attempts to keep interests safe (Bauman 100).
According to Bauman and Lyon, "Security has morphed into a future-oriented enterprise" (5). People are security addicts "(p. 10).
Security imagines a future where abnormalities don't exist or are contained (Bauman & Lyon, 2013, p. 107). It assumes to serve the greater good of the majority where the statistical deviations live on the margins (p. 107).
