Information Retrieval
"...the seemingly neutral process of information retrieval conceals the politics of search engine design , which tends to overvalue certain sources of information , especially those that are already prominent, while rendering other, less visible sources more obscure and difficult to find" (Gates, 2011, p. 114).
User-friendly forms of interface design for information retrieval removes people from where information really comes from and how information is classified (Gates, 2011, p. 114).
