Community Policing

Community policing involved redesigning of urban zones so police could have more oversight (Gates, 2011, p. 69). Gates (2011) sites Christopher Wilson's work where he concluded that in community policing, technology for a sense of security is about not just maintaining order by legitimizing the police to decide who is in and who is out of a community (p. 92).
