ADVERBS OF PLACE AND TIME
There is another part of speech that describes or modifies. It is an adverb.
If adjectives modify nouns, adverbs modify verbs. They can tell you how, when, and where an action takes place. They can be a one-word description of a verb, or they may also be a phrase.
There are several kinds of adverbs: Manner: tells you how an action takes place
EXAMPLES:

Families desperately saved whatever belongings they could save.
Time: tells you when an action takes place
EXAMPLES:

When did the typhoon hit the city?

Place: tells you where an action takes place
EXAMPLES:
