ANALYZE
1. Neil Postman once said: “Children go to school as question marks and leave school as periods!” Does this have something to do with the type of questions that teachers ask and the questioning and reacting techniques that they employ?
(Students develop their listening and thinking skills when exposed to the right set of questions.) The teacher must always put in mind that the knowledge and skills used in asking different types of questions in a classroom in one important but critical aspect of the teaching and learning process. Therefore, teachers must be careful in designing/ formulating questions to stimulate curiosity, provoke ideas, clarify concepts, and challenge beliefs.
REFLECT
The importance of using various reacting techniques
I was able to teach my cousins last month and the life there was very romantic. I give all my best just to have their needs, the knowledge they want. I realize that reacting techniques are very important when it comes to teaching. You should always provide feedback to your students so that the learning will be an active process. I always showed encouragement to my cousins and even give appropriate praise to high-quality responses, that’s also reacting techniques and it’s very important. Reacting techniques is important since it provides feedback on the correctness or incorrectness of a response.
