SCHOOL FACILITIES OBSERVATION CHECKLIST
An Observation for the CLASSROOM VISIT
Classroom Observation Report
The community of Saint Louis College is urbanized because it belongs to the city of San Fernand province of La Union. The community is good, environmentally friendly, friendly atmosphere, cleaned and looks well-managed. The school campus is wide and huge. From what I have observed, the school campus is nature-friendly, with green trees and colorful well-groomed gardens. It gives a refreshing ambiance to the students and faculty's staff. The color combination of the buildings is yellow, brown, and white and the condition of the buildings was well-structured and have a strong and good foundation. Based on my observation, the offices are well-organized, wide enough to cater to the students' needs, and accessible for them also. I was so amazed by their big and wide offices.
First, there's a tarpaulin containing the name of the school including address, mission, vision, and a map of the school, a tarpaulin containing an image of St. Louis, a display containing many educational quotes, and a display also contains the images of admin and staffs including there respective ranks. I've notice also that at the doors of every classroom there's a name of a Saints like St. Andrew, Saint Mastiff, etc... I wasn't able to count the displays because so many, unlike the school, I have been to before were so limited or can be countered easily.
One of the most remarkable visual aids besides the tarpaulin and display boards, they also flat-screen TV for visual aids. There are also display boards which are the theme is like nutrition month, Buwan ng Wika, etc. And also the most-watched display board that contains only the school year academic honors or the top students of the school.

Observation Report
Name of the School Observed: Saint Louis College
Location of the School : La Union
Date of Observation : 09-13-2021
The school where we were assigned, the walls there contains information that engage students in learning. For example the announcements for upcoming events or other activities that the school will do. Also the list of the students who have got high grade or included to the Dean’s Lister. Also they have posted there some good looking visual aids that get the attention of the students once they passed by.
The furniture in the school campus has been place in a proper area. They make sure that no one can damaged or harm it. They also have the teacher's tables were in located at the Faculty Room. All the tables and chairs are in respective rooms and arranged properly. Also their learning materials these include the lectures, readings, textbooks, multimedia components, and other resources in a course. These materials can be used in both face-to-face and online classrooms; however, some must be modified or redesigned to be effective for the online environment.
As what I observe the students are focusing to their class and I think its more than 40 but it depends on the occupied space for the students and to their rooms also are well-lit and well-ventilated and also have enough space for the students and teachers.
ANALYZE
How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the students going to school? What are your conclusions?
The building features and surrounding conditions are comforting to the students which influences positive behavior in them. The solicited positive behavior somehow encourage them to come to school and attend their classes. Also, the good nature and quality of the learning environment affect teacher’s attitudes, behaviors and performances which is very vital in shaping young minds and character. How the teachers are towards their duty and responsibilities greatly affect on the students’ success.
How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development/How does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?
As future educator, by these instances I will know that there are many factors that can affect the student to attend and not to attend school. And by knowing such factors, I can adjust to what my students will need.
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why not?
Yes, because the school environment is very accessible, the surroundings is very peaceful and covered by green pasture that brighten up the day and gives a cool and cozy environment.
2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?
A school campus with pleasant and safe surroundings, fresh air, moderate temperature and is free from the noise disturbances make students feel better about themselves. Well-built and beautiful buildings and complete school facilities solicits positive responses from students. A campus exhibiting competitive standards and provides quality education will create a good impression on students, parents and the community as well. An institution with staffs of good reputation and morals is also a vital aspect of a learning environment.
3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?
The teacher who manages the classroom must have a good well-being. A well-ventilated, well-lighted, well-decorated, and well-arranged classroom is conducive to learning. A classroom built beautifully and of strong foundation is conducive to learning, too. It is said to be conducive if it is fully equipped with instructional and learning materials. Having a warm atmosphere of friendship among teachers and students alike and where students can exercise their freedom of expression without the fear of being judged and discriminated are my ideas of a conducive classroom environment.
4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?
I must possess excellent classroom management skills, an open mind to see and understand students’ differences, a sensitive heart to know their needs, and a wide array of ideas to accommodate those needs. I am willing to sacrifice my own pocket and other resources for the good of my students and the school just as I’ve practiced in my years of teaching. I must live up to my own expectations and not to walk on other’s shadows, especially when the shadows ahead of me are not casting good examples.
5. Write your additional learnings and insights.
The appearance of the school buildings, surroundings and classrooms reflect on the kind of educators running the institution. Parents, students and the rest of the residents in the community where the school stands gets their first impression of the school from its outward looks. They connect that impression to the teachers. The trust and respect they give to the school may depend on that impression. Trust and respect affect teaching. Trust and respect affect learning.
