OBSERVE, ANALYZE, REFLECT
Activity 1.2 Observing Bulletin Board Displays
As we go around the school we are so ecstatic since we saw many board displays and there are big and also a small one board displays. It’s more than 15 in the outside of the campus and more than 45 are inside in the classroom. The big board display is found especially in the gate of the campus and everybody can see it since some of them are for the announcements, important matters etc. On the other hand, the small board display is found especially inside the classroom and you can see all the outputs of the learners etc.
We really can say that all display board that are found inside and outside the campus really place to the right direction and place for the target viewers to see. However, each display board have different topics, aims, and most importantly all of them have great way to get the students engaged, excited and working together, helping to maximize learning and personal skills. The images and colours that we see are much captivating, gorgeous, immaculate, and meticulous. The colours they used can really get the attention to the learners and to other people. The materials used was all printed, the words are so big enough for the viewers to see. It is really easy to understand and the message is very clear.
Creativeness overload to get everybody’s attention as well as it is very nice and has a great design to catch eyes. It can really make you stop to view all what are all written in that board since it is very neat.

1. Name at least five skills a teacher should have to be able to come up with effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.
The skills that a teacher needs to create an effective board display could include:
1.Responsibility- to finish the bulletin board display.
2.Visual Skills- teachers are somewhat like interior designers; they must be able to visualize the presentation and impact they want to create, then apply those to the display.
3.Organization skills- this goes along with #2, but organization includes comparing and contrasting, grouping and arranging content in a meaningful way.
4.Communication- teachers know that words combined with visual content can often communicate more than words alone. As well, the teacher must be a good communicator
5. Minimalistic Views- good teachers know they must minimize content to the basic building block they want to teach. Rather than a display aimed at students who understand the most, the best, or the easiest, the display would be shared to include students who understand the least, the poorest, and the hardest.
2. Which of the skills you named in # 1 do you already have? Recall your past experiences in making board displays. How do you practice these skills?
One skill that I had is responsibility. When I was making the board display I am responsible for doing it, so I can easily finish it.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on how you can improve on or acquire these skills?
I think more about the minimalistic view and creativity. There are lots of ways or techniques that I am not aware of or that I haven’t try yet because I don’t know how to do it, that’s why there’s a need for me to be expose to a lot of bulletin board displays so that I can apply it on my own bulletin board. Surfing the net could be a big help since the internet offers a wide variety of sample board displays and techniques to be effective on it.

My Personal Illustration of an Effective School Environment
The effective school must possess these kinds of aspects. These involve stimulating and secure learning environment on which the child are free from any harm of murder or accident. Professional leadership must also take place because the learners always depend to what the teacher instructs. Focus on teaching and learning are some point that should have to take into consideration, too. There should have a purposeful teaching, shared vision and goals, high expectations of all learners, accountability and learning communities.
